Veteran Sandalwood Mangalore Dinesh passes away; 'KGF' supporting actor remembered

Veteran Sandalwood actor and acclaimed art director Mangalore Dinesh passed away on Monday at his residence. Known for his memorable performances in films such as 'KGF' and his award-winning work as an art director, Dinesh had been undergoing treatment following a stroke and succumbed to his illness early this morning.As per a report by Kannada Prabha, the actor passed away early Monday morning, August 25, 2025, at his residence in Kundapur, Udupi district. Dinesh, also known as Dinesh Ricci, had been undergoing treatment at Kundapur Hospital after suffering a stroke and had been battling health complications for the past five days.He is survived by his wife Bharati and sons Pawan and Sajjan.

About Mangalore Dinesh

Born in Kundapur and a longtime resident of Bangalore, Dinesh began his career in the film industry as an assistant to the renowned art director Shashidhar Adapa, working on projects such as Chinnari Mutha.

He later made a mark as an independent art director with the film 'Janumada Jodi' directed by T.S. Nagabharana.

Memorable performances on the big screen

Over the years, Dinesh contributed his artistic expertise to numerous Sandalwood films, including 'Veera Madakari', 'Chandramukhi Pranasakhi', and 'No. 73 Shantinivasa'.He gained recognition for his portrayal of the Bombay Don in Yash's blockbuster 'KGF' franchise. Audiences also appreciated his supporting roles in films such as 'Harikathe Alla Girikathe', 'Ranavaru Kandante', 'Kirik Party', 'Elo Jagappa Ninna Palace', and 'Bhuvanam Gaganam'.

Senior director P. Seshadri shared the news on social media, calling Dinesh a friend, artist, and producer.
