Vetrimaaran reveals the story of Silambarasan -Vijay Sethupathi starrer was penned in 2003

Filmmaker Vetrimaaran revealed that the story for his upcoming film 'Arasan,' starring Silambarasan and Vijay Sethupathi, was penned in 2003. The narrative reportedly follows a Madurai sportsperson's journey to Chennai and subsequent involvement in crime. This project, with music by Anirudh, is anticipated to be a significant film for Silambarasan.

‘Arasan’ story was written many years ago

After completing 'Viduthalai Part 2,' Vetrimaaran was expected to begin work on 'Vaadivaasal' with Suriya. However, due to delays in starting that project, he decided to move forward with 'Arasan.' According to reports, the first schedule of the film has already been completed, and the next schedule will begin soon.Speaking at a recent event, Vetrimaaran revealed that the story of 'Arasan' was actually written back in 2003, even before he directed 'Polladhavan.' As per Nakkheeran, he also mentioned that the script was fully completed before shooting began and that the film may be completed faster than some of his previous projects.

A story about transformation and struggle

The film’s storyline is said to revolve around a sportsperson from Madurai who moves to Chennai and eventually becomes involved in the world of crime.

The story centers on the consequences of this change. Reports also suggest that the story may be inspired by the life of a real-life figure from Chennai known as “Tiger” Siva.'Arasan' is a crucial movie for Silambarasan. He made a comeback with 'Maanaadu'; however, subsequent Silambarasan movies have not proven as successful as expected. Yet, considering Vetrimaaran's reputation for gripping narratives and his commitment to filmmaking, audiences are hopeful that "Arasan" will be a defining moment for both the actor and the director.
