A woman was seriously injured after a stray bull charged at and tossed her into the air in a residential area of Rajasthan's Pali district, highlighting the continuing menace of stray cattle in the town.

The incident occurred on July 3 in Subhash Nagar near a Shiva temple beneath the railway overbridge. According to local residents, Pani Devi had stepped out of her house and was heading towards the temple when a stray bull, roaming in the area, suddenly charged at her from a distance. The impact flung her several feet into the air before she fell to the ground.

Family members and neighbours rushed to her rescue and shifted her for medical treatment. She was later referred to Jodhpur due to the seriousness of her injuries.

Residents said stray cattle continue to roam freely in the locality, posing a constant risk to pedestrians. The incident has triggered public anger, with locals questioning the Municipal Corporation's failure to address the problem.

Although the civic body has a cattle pound meant for impounding stray animals, residents allege that the facility is in poor condition and no active drive is currently underway to capture stray cattle.
