A family from Maharashtra's Nashik has claimed that they were chased for nearly 15 kilometres and attacked with iron rods after objecting to the harassment of a woman at a popular tourist spot. A video showing two men on a motorcycle, one of them carrying iron rods while pursuing the family's car, has since gone viral on social media.

According to the family, they had visited the Bhavali waterfall when they noticed a group of men harassing a young woman. When they intervened and questioned their behaviour, the accused turned violent.

The family claimed the attackers chased their car before repeatedly intercepting them and assaulting them with wooden sticks and iron rods.

They also vandalised the family's vehicle during the attack.

A case has been registered, and the police are working to identify and arrest the accused.

Police are also examining CCTV footage and other evidence as part of the investigation.
