A 57-year-old man was killed and his son-in-law seriously injured in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad after the driver of a roadside parked car allegedly opened the door suddenly, causing the victims' bike to crash into it.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV, and the footage has since gone viral on social media.
According to police and local sources, Hukam Singh (57) was travelling on a bike with his son-in-law, Pradeep Kumar (30). The duo were carrying a gas cylinder on the bike at the time of the accident.
As they reached near Bodhashram in Firozabad, the driver of a car parked along the roadside opened the vehicle’s door abruptly without checking for approaching traffic. The bike crashed directly into the open door, throwing both riders onto the road.
The impact left both men critically injured. Locals rushed them to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Hukam Singh dead. Pradeep Kumar, who suffered serious injuries, was later referred to Agra for advanced treatment, where he remains under medical care.
CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced online and is being widely circulated on social media platforms. The video reportedly captures the moment the car door was flung open, leaving the motorcyclist with little time to react.
The visuals also showed the car driver and another individual who had stepped out moments before the accident inspecting the damaged door immediately after the crash, while the two injured men lay motionless on the road.
Police from the North police station have launched an investigation into the incident. Officials said further legal action will be taken based on the CCTV footage and other evidence collected from the spot.
