Newlyweds Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are embracing post-wedding traditions, recently visiting Vijay's ancestral village in Telangana to honor his grandparents and perform a gruhapravesam ceremony. This follows their grand February wedding in Udaipur, which blended Telugu and Kodava customs. The couple is set to reunite on screen in 'Raanabali'.

Recently, actor-producer Yash Rangineni shared unseen pictures from Rakonda village in Telangana, where the couple visited to honour the memory of Vijay’s maternal grandparents.The photos captured intimate moments of the couple performing rituals and spending time with family members. Vijay’s mother Madhavi and his brother Anand Deverakonda were also present during the visit, making it a meaningful family gathering shortly after the wedding festivities.Sharing the images on Instagram, Yash Rangineni reflected on Vijay’s grounded personality. Gruhapravesam ceremony in Thummanpeta

A few days earlier, the couple had also performed their gruhapravesam ceremony and Satyanarayana Vratam puja at their newly built home in Vijay’s ancestral village Thummanpeta in Telangana.

Videos circulating online showed villagers enthusiastically welcoming the newlyweds.Rashmika’s sister Shiman Mandanna and Vijay’s brother Anand accompanied them as preparations for the rituals were underway. The celebration turned festive as local folk dancers and musicians performed to welcome the couple, while villagers gathered in large numbers to witness the ceremony.

Wedding celebrations in Udaipur

The couple tied the knot on February 26 in Udaipur with ceremonies that reflected both their cultural backgrounds.

The morning began with a traditional Telugu wedding honouring Vijay’s heritage, followed by a Kodava ceremony in the evening to celebrate Rashmika’s roots.Before the big day, the pair had treated fans to glimpses of their pre-wedding celebrations starting February 23. Festivities included a Japanese-themed dinner for guests, pool volleyball sessions and a friendly cricket match dubbed the “VIROSH Premiere League.”

The sangeet ceremony took place at the scenic hill resort Mementos, followed by intimate haldi and mehendi celebrations the next day.Several well-known names from the film industry attended the wedding celebrations. Among them were Tharun Bhascker, Rahul Ravindran, Eesha Rebba, Ashika Ranganath, stylist Shravya Varma, filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga and actress Kalyani Priyadarshan.Following the ceremonies, the couple hosted a lavish reception on March 4 at Taj Krishna.

The event saw the presence of several major film personalities, including Nagarjuna Akkineni, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Karan Johar, Kriti Sanon and Mrunal Thakur.

What's next for Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna

On the professional front, Vijay and Rashmika will soon share screen space again in the upcoming film 'Raanabali'. The project marks another collaboration for the pair after their successful films 'Geetha Govindam' (2018) and 'Dear Comrade' (2019), both of which were well received by audiences.
