Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom Takes a Promising Start in the USA Ahead of July 31 Release

Vijay Deverakonda's 'Kingdom,' directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is generating buzz with its gritty visuals and emotionally driven narrative. Despite release date changes, advance ticket sales in the USA show promising interest. Following a string of underperforming films, 'Kingdom' is crucial for Deverakonda, offering a chance to re-establish himself as a leading man in Telugu cinema.

When the teaser of Vijay Deverakonda’s much-anticipated film Kingdom dropped a few months ago- it created a massive buzz for the world it created and its gritty visuals. Its release was eagerly awaited but the film had to change its release date twice, first from 30th May to 4th July and finally to 31st July.

While the advance booking for the film is yet to start in India, the tickets have gone on sale in the United States of America. Over the last 5 odd years, Telugu films have made a major inroad in the circuit starting with Baahubali 2- The Conclusion. Since then films like RRR, Kalki 2898 AD, Pushpa franchise and Salaar: Part 1 ceasefire have been major money spinners. In fact Telugu has also become the 11th most spoken language in the country.

The film has collected $15,900 ( Rs 13.63 lakh) from 775 tickets sold across 64 locations and 135 shows. For a Telugu film more than two weeks away from release, this is a confident start—one that signals renewed interest in Deverakonda’s career.Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, best known for his critically acclaimed Jersey with Nani, Kingdom marks a significant moment in Vijay’s filmography. After a string of underwhelming box office performances in Liger, Khushi, and The Family Star, Kingdom represents a shot at redemption and a return to the kind of intense, emotionally driven roles that first won him his fanbase.

The film features Rukmini Vasanth and Bhagyashri Borse as the female leads, adding to its fresh appeal. With Tinnanuri’s reputation for crafting emotionally grounded stories and Vijay’s fan base both in India and overseas, Kingdom is being closely watched by both industry insiders and fans alike. What makes the Kingdom all the more important for Vijay is its timing. After three films that failed to resonate with either critics or audiences, there’s a lot at stake. Fortunately, Kingdom seems to be offering the right mix: a compelling director, a new story, and a back-to-basics emotional arc. If the early indicators hold, this could be the comeback film that re-establishes Deverakonda as a bankable and respected leading man in Telugu cinema.
