The producer stated that they have chosen to present the film before the CBFC’s Revising Committee rather than continue with litigation.

Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, was originally scheduled for release on January 9.
The maker of Jana Nayagan has decided to withdraw the writ petition filed against the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) from the Madras High Court. KVN Productions’ counsel on record submitted a letter to the court registry on Monday, expressing the producer’s intention to discontinue the legal battle.
Attorney Vijayan Subramanian, representing KVN Productions, confirmed that actor Vijay wishes to withdraw the petition related to the film.
The case is expected to be listed on Tuesday (February 10) before Justice PD Asha for formal permission to withdraw.
In the letter submitted to the Madras High Court, the producer stated that they have chosen to present the film before the CBFC’s Revising Committee rather than continue with litigation.

Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth, was originally scheduled for release on January 9.
The film, starring Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and Narain, was set to be Vijay’s final cinematic release before he contested in the Tamil Nadu elections with his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
Days before its release, the CBFC referred the film to a revising committee, prompting KVN Productions to challenge the move in the Madras High Court. The court had earlier ruled in favour of the producers, directing the board to grant a U/A certificate after requested changes.
However, the movie has yet to be certified, and neither the producers nor the CBFC have issued any official comment. The CBFC also filed a caveat before the Supreme Court, requesting that no order be passed on the release without hearing it.
