Vijayawada devotees left for Nagpur Urs

Sufi devotees led by Ata Mohammed Nizamuddin left for Nagpur Urs

Vijayawada: A large group of Sufi devotees from Andhra Pradesh departed from Vijayawada on Tuesday to participate in the 104th Urs Sharif of Hazrat Syed Baba Tajuddin Tajul Auliya in Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The devotees will organise langar Sharif (community meal service) throughout the annual religious festival from July 8 to 16.The delegation, comprising more than 300 devotees, murids and volunteers, is travelling under the banner of Astana Ata-e-Bagh Sarkar Tajul Auliya Darbar, Jampani. The service is being organised under the spiritual guidance of Hazrat Sufi Muhammad Atawulla Sharif Shah Taj Qadri Baba and the leadership of Ata Muhammad Nizamuddin Shah Taj Qadri (Ata Nizam Baba).Organisers said two truckloads of rice, pulses, edible oil, vegetables, cooking equipment and other essential supplies have been transported to Nagpur to facilitate uninterrupted Langar services for thousands of pilgrims visiting the shrine during the Urs. A team of Shah Rafai Fakirs from Penugonda’s sadar chowk will also join the programme, participating in Langar service, Zikr (remembrance of God), Dua (special prayers) and various community service activities.

Several prominent spiritual leaders are expected to participate in the celebrations, including Hazrat KSSB Rukunuddin Ahmad Hussaini Soharwardi (Taj Baba Saheb) of Penugonda, and Sufi Altaf Raza Baba, Andhra Pradesh State Sufi convener.T
