‘Vilaayath Budha’, an upcoming action thriller film starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, has finally released its first trailer. The teaser, which was shared online on September 5, gives fans a look at Prithviraj Sukumaran’s transformation into his character ‘Double Mohanan’ on the big screen.Let's take a closer look at the teaser.

About the ‘Vilaayath Budha’ teaser

The story, which is based on a popular novel, revolves around the fight between two parties over a sandalwood tree. Bhaskaran Master and his now former protege, Double Mohanan, got head-to-head in this new trailer over the possession of the tree. The teaser gives fans a quality mix of thrilling and action-packed scenes, along with romantic as well as funny and comedic notions, all packed into one film. The teaser also shows a direct tribute to the hit film ‘Pushpa’, which also revolves around the concept of the sandalwood mafia. In the scene, a cop can be seen approaching Prithviraj’s character and telling him not to “pull a pushpa” on him, to which Sukumaran replies with humor that “I am local, not international like him”. The balance between the high-paced background music to mark more thrilling scenes and lighter, melodious music for romantic and comedic scenes also plays into enhancing the experience for fans.

The teaser has already managed to build up a lot of anticipation amongst fans, who cannot wait to see their favourite stars finally on the big screen.

About ‘Vilaayath Budha’

The film was initially introduced in 2020; however ended up getting delayed till October 2022, when the production finally began. Another major obstacle that was presented during the filming of the scenes in Marayoor, specifically, was when Prithviraj ended up getting seriously injured on the sets of the film.This resulted in another delay, as he was the lead of the film; however, due to surgery and a three-month recovery period, filming was halted again. Other than Sukumaran, Anu Mohan, Priyamvada Krishnan, Kottayam Ramesh, and Teejay Arunasalam are also part of the film’s star-studded cast, creating a strong project from the get-go.
