Several violations with regard to health and hygiene were found in two food establishments in Secunderabad Zone, during an inspection conducted by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials on Saturday.
Led by the Secunderabad Zonal Commissioner Manga Tayaru, the extensive inspections were conducted upon the directions from the GHMC Commissioner. The inspection team included Gazetted Food Inspector Laxmi Kanth, Food Safety Officers Swathi and Sahiti, along with the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Municipal Commissioner and Deputy Solid Waste Management teams of Kavadiguda Circle.
The team inspected the premises of Amantran Hotel and Banquets, and Samosa Kharkhana in Kavadiguda Circle, and found serious violations, including poor hygiene and sanitation, improper maintenance of records, storage of expired food articles and use of unauthorised food colours.
Notices have been issued to the managements concerned and further action will be initiated in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, officials said.
GHMC emphasised that all hotels and food establishments in Greater Hyderabad must strictly adhere to hygiene and food safety standards, warning that stringent action will be taken under the law against establishments found violating norms, compromising food quality or maintaining unhygienic conditions.
