New Delhi: The Vivo V70 Elite which has recently launched by Vivo but is not the kind of V series phone we have come to expect. Traditionally, as we see V series phones have been known for their good looks and impressive cameras, but performance has rarely been a talking point. That changes with the V70 Elite. Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, this phone signals a new direction for the series one that attempts to balance style, camera capability, and raw performance in a single package.

Design

The V70 Elite looks and feels genuinely premium. Vivo has given the V70 series a noticeable redesign, moving away from the plastic frame of the V60 to a more refined aluminum frame with flat sides and rounded edges. The rear features glass fiber, while the front is protected by Shot Sensation Core glass. The circular camera module has a metal trim that gives it a distinctive look, and the Passion Red color is particularly striking. Authentic Black and Sand Beige options are also available.

The phone has a compact and dense feel in hand not too heavy, not too light and it is slightly thinner than the V60. It comes with both IP68 and IP69 water resistance ratings, which is a solid addition. One minor inconvenience is the slight camera bump that causes the phone to wobble on flat surfaces when typing. Also worth noting is that the phone still uses USB 2.0, which feels like a missed opportunity in 2026.

Performance

This is where the V70 Elite genuinely surprises. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is a 4nm octa-core chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It is available in 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB configurations.

Benchmark numbers are strong. In terms of AnTuTu score testing, the device scores around 1.8 million. And in Geekbench 6 returns a single-core score of 1923 and a multi-core score of 4779, indicating a snappy, responsive interface along with the solid multi-threaded performance. In the CPU throttle test running 40 threads for 30 minutes, the phone maintained 74% CPU stability, which is commendable.

Battery Life

It comes with 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging is a strong combination. The phone charges from zero to full in around 50 minutes and managed around 7 hours of screen-on time in testing, comfortably lasting through a full day. Battery management has been appears well-optimized across different usage scenarios.

Cameras

The V70 Elite features a triple rear camera system: a 50MP Sony IMX 766 primary sensor, a 50MP Sony IMX 882 3x periscope telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide. The front gets a 50MP autofocus selfie camera. This setup is the same as the V60, but the upgraded chipset with its Spectra ISP and Hexagon NPU brings a noticeable improvement in image processing.

Daylight photos from the primary camera are detailed and well-balanced this device offers to the users. The Zeiss Natural color mode produces true-to-life tones with excellent skin rendering. HDR performance is strong across the main, ultrawide, and selfie cameras. Portrait shots are a clear highlight with multiple focal lengths from 23mm to 100mm, edge detection is clean, hair separation is accurate, and the bokeh falloff looks natural.

Zoom performance holds up well at 2x, 3x, and 6x, though AI processing becomes more aggressive and inconsistent at higher zoom levels. The ultrawide camera is acceptable in daylight but struggles in low light. In terms of video goes up to 4K 60fps on the primary, telephoto, and selfie cameras, though the ultrawide is capped at 1080p 30fps, which feels limiting.

Display

The V70 Elite sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 5,000 nits in HDR content, and it supports HDR10, HDR10+, and YouTube HDR. The bezels are impressively slim, giving the phone a premium, immersive look. The stereo speakers sound full and well-rounded.

Origin OS 6 is smooth and visually polished, benefiting from both a new animation engine and the powerful chipset underneath. Features like the lock screen customization, glass-style control center, and PC integration through Office Kit are genuinely useful additions.

Final Review

The Vivo V70 Elite is the most well-rounded phone the V series has produced this time for their users. It combines strong performance, reliable battery life, an excellent portrait camera system, and a premium design into one cohesive package making it a genuinely compelling option for users who want more than just a good-looking camera phone.
