Vizag doctor to present five papers at Kyoto Congress

Visakhapatnam: Five scientific research papers submitted by Dr Abdul D Khan, head of the department of orthopaedics at Apollo Hospitals, Visakhapatnam, have been accepted for presentation at the SICOT Orthopaedic World Congress to be held in Kyoto, Japan, in Sep 2026.

A letter to this effect has been sent by the SICOT scientific committee. The papers highlight the functional outcomes of several rare and innovative surgeries performed by Dr Khan. They include cases involving the use of the FAST-FIX device for meniscal tears, UltraButton and bio-screw implants for ACL reconstruction, and DePuy Sigma implants for total knee replacement surgeries. All the patients made good functional recoveries.
