Visakhapatnam: Dehradun district administration in Uttarakhand has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the mysterious death of 27‑year‑old woman Parupudi Radha Gayatri at a Mussoorie homestay on June 15.Sub‑divisional magistrate (Mussoorie) Rahul Anand stated that the inquiry was ordered after the postmortem examination failed to establish the exact cause of death. The report says the cause of death is reserved, with viscera preserved for toxicological and histopathological analysis. Anand has been appointed inquiry officer in compliance with the district magistrate’s July 6 order.Mussoorie police registered a case under Section 103(1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Radha Gayatri’s husband, Sri Charan, following a complaint by her father, Parupudi Sudhakar, alleging foul play.

Parents Sudhakar and Satyavati emphasised the need for an independent, transparent, thorough inquiry.Uttarakhand police issued summonses to Sricharan and his parents, Durga Prasad and Seetha Mahalakshmi, as part of the ongoing investigation.The district administration invited the public to submit statements or evidence to the SDM’s office in Dehradun by July 17.A software professional from Vizag city, Radha Gayatri, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a homestay on the Mussoorie‑Dhanaulti Road while on vacation with her husband, Sricharan Somayajula, also a software professional. The couple married in November 2025. Radha Gayatri was found dead lying naked on the floor. Bloodstains were on the bedsheet, while two empty liquor bottles and food items were recovered.

Sri Charan told police they consumed alcohol before retiring to their room and that he later found his wife bleeding from the nose.
