Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have asked employees of firms linked to the US and Israel to evacuate after Israel bombed a heavy water reactor and a uranium enrichment facility in the country on Friday.
Israel confirmed that it attacked a heavy water plant and a yellowcake production plant, saying these facilities were being used to restore Iran’s nuclear capabilities. The strikes did not cause any casualties and there was no risk of contamination, according to Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation.

Seyed Majid Moosavi, IRGC’s Aerospace Force commander, posted on X that employees of companies tied to the US and Israel should leave their workplaces. “You tested us once before; the world has once again seen that you yourselves started playing with fire and attacking infrastructure," he said.
“This time, the equation will no longer be ‘an eye for an eye,’ just wait and see. Employees of industrial companies associated with the Americans and the Zionist regime should quickly leave their workplaces to avoid endangering their lives!" he added.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed that it bombed Iran’s Arak heavy water reactor, saying it targeted the “key infrastructure for producing plutonium for nuclear weapons" after Iran worked to restore the site, as per Israeli reports. The Israeli airstrikes also struck a uranium enrichment facility at Ardakan, which produced yellowcake, a concentrated uranium powder used in the early stages of nuclear fuel production.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, “Israel has hit 2 of Iran’s largest steel factories, a power plant and civilian nuclear sites among other infrastructure. Israel claims it acted in coordination with the US. Attack contradicts POTUS extended deadline for diplomacy. Iran will exact HEAVY price for Israeli crimes."
The attacks came after US President Donald Trump claimed talks on ending the war were going well and gave Tehran more time to open the Strait of Hormuz, even though Iran has publicly rebuffed negotiations with the US. With stock markets reeling and economic fallout from the war extending far beyond the Gulf region, Trump is under pressure to end Iran’s chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz, which supplies 20% of the world’s oil and gas needs.
The United States has offered Iran a 15-point proposal for a ceasefire that includes it relinquishing control of the strait, but at the same time has ordered thousands more troops to the region, possibly in preparation for a military attempt to end Iran’s chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz. Diplomats from several countries, including Pakistan and Turkey, have tried to organise a direct meeting between US and Iranian envoys.
