Aamir Khan has shared a touching teaser for 'Ek Din,' a project that resonates with him personally. This film marks the debut of his son, Junaid Khan, who takes the lead alongside Sai Pallavi.
Aamir Khan launched the teaser for his next film, ‘Ek Din,' and made it clear that the project means more to him than a routine release. The film stars his son Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, with Sunil Pandey directing. At the teaser launch, Aamir said he had once hoped ‘Ek Din’ would introduce Junaid as an actor.
He also linked the film’s release timing to his own start in Hindi cinema, giving the romantic drama a personal connection that reaches back to ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’.
Notably, the romantic drama's trailer dropped today.
Aamir Khan on Junaid Khan’s ‘Ek Din’ debut plan
According to OTTPlay, Aamir said, “Actually, I wanted this to be his first film.” He then explained why that plan changed. “But I take time [with production], so things moved differently.” That comment placed ‘Ek Din’ at the center of Junaid’s career story, even though Junaid has already appeared in ‘Maharaj’ and ‘Loveyapa’.Khan described ‘Ek Din’ as the kind of love story he has always valued. He called it a tale built on soft emotion rather than spectacle. He described the screenplay as “Classic, slightly magical love stories.” The film follows Rohan, played by Junaid, a shy man who falls deeply in love with his coworker Meera, played by Sai Pallavi. During a work trip to snowy Sapporo, Japan, he wishes she could be with him for just one day.
His wish comes true, but there is a catch. The next morning, Meera forgets the experience.
Sai Pallavi's Hindi debut and ‘Ek Din’ release date
Aamir also praised Sai Pallavi, who makes her Hindi cinema debut with the film. He said, “I am so glad we finally went with Sai Pallavi.” He added, “She is such a good actor, and she has done an amazing job.”The film will release on May 1, 2026. Aamir said that date matters to him because it falls close to the anniversary of ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’, which released on April 29, 1988, and marked his Bollywood debut. Behind the scenes, ‘Ek Din’ also reunites Aamir with Mansoor Khan as producers. Their earlier work together includes ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ and ‘Akele Hum Akele Tum’. The film’s music comes from Ram Sampath, with lyrics by Irshad Kamil.
A preview of the title track, sung by Arijit Singh, has already started trending on social media.
