The Indian Air Force conducted a daring rescue mission over the Ravi River near Madhopur and assisted the National Disaster Rescue Force (NDRF) personnel stranded on a broken barrage.

The IAF deployed a Mi-171V helicopter for the mission, which was extremely challenging considering the rough terrain. During the operation, the IAF crew on board the helicopter inserted and extracted NDRF personnel and a Garud commando in the area.

"On 30 Aug 25, an IAF Mi-17 1V helicopter executed a daring mission over the Ravi river near Madhopur, assisting NDRF personnel stranded on a broken barrage," wrote the IAF on X.

The terrain on which the rescue operation was conducted was dangerous to the extent that only one wheel of the helicopter could land while it kept hovering.

"In a challenging one-wheel hover on steep slopes, the IAF crew skillfully inserted & extracted NDRF personnel and a Garud, completing the task with precision and courage," IAF further mentioned in the tweet.
