A month after admitting that Melania Trump disapproved of his dance moves, Donald Trump once again broke into his now-signature “YMCA” routine, and this time, the first lady joined him.The moment came at Fort Bragg, where the president and Melania addressed the families of military members. After Trump wrapped up his remarks, the Village People anthem blasted from the speakers. As cameras rolled, the president lifted his arms and performed his familiar side-to-side sway.Initially, Melania appeared to watch without enthusiasm. She seemed to clench her jaw while standing beside him. Seconds later, however, she raised her arms and attempted her own version of the dance.Their styles were noticeably different. While Donald confidently elevated his hands and smiled broadly, Melania halfheartedly lifted her arms and moved them as if hoisting something heavy. The display was striking given what Trump revealed at a January public event. Speaking about his dance, he said: “My wife hates when I do this; she's a very classy person. She said it's so unpresidential. She hates when I dance ...
everybody wants me to dance.”Despite that earlier admission, Melania ultimately participated during the Fort Bragg appearance. Trump has performed the routine repeatedly at public events, including on Friday after delivering a tribute to U.S. troops who apprehended former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro.
The last time the Trumps were seen dancing together publicly before this was in July during Independence Day celebrations, when supporters in the crowd shouted “third term.”Melania accompanied the Republican president to Fort Bragg, one of the world’s most populous military installations, to meet with military families. Before leaving the White House, Trump also addressed economic figures showing inflation dropped to nearly a five-year low as apartment rental price increases eased and gas prices fell.“The numbers were surprising, except to me they weren't surprising,” Trump told reporters. “We have very modest inflation, which is what you want to have.”Though she once dismissed the dance as “unpresidential,” Melania briefly mirrored her husband’s movements as “YMCA” echoed across the base.
