Nico Hulkenberg’s little daughter, Noemi, erupted in joyous celebrations after watching her father honoured for his first-ever Formula 1 podium finish in his career on Sunday. As Hulkenberg secured a top-three finish at the British Grand Prix in his 239th attempt and raised the trophy, his wife Egle shared a cute video of their little one screaming in excitement in front of the TV screen.

The three-year-old, who was watching Hulkenberg’s impressive performance at the British Grand Prix with her mother, Egle, was a bundle of joy as her father received his prize at the podium.

Later on, Egle shared the moment of Noemi amusingly jumping up in elation and trying to touch her father through the screen as he raised the trophy.

It was a huge moment in Hulkenberg’s career as he finally reached the podium at the British Grand Prix with a superb drive. A dramatic Silverstone race saw the veteran racer overcome two safety car periods to move up to the fourth spot from the 19th, closing in on Lance Stroll. He ultimately surpassed Stroll and kept charging to eventually finish third.

During a press conference afterwards, Hulkenberg was asked by second-placed Oscar Piastri if he was happy to pick up only a plastic Lego trophy instead of the usual precious metal prizes.

In response, the experienced F1 racer smiled and said he would gift his prize as a toy to his daughter, Noemi. “I love Lego, my daughter can play with it too. A bit of silver or gold would have been nice too, but I won’t complain," he said.

Hulkenberg also expressed his delight upon experiencing a podium finish for the first time in any racing category since winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015. “It felt good. I still remembered how to do [spray the champagne]. I used to do it a lot in the juniors, and I’ve had to wait for quite a bit," he said, having got the crowd that anticipated Hamilton’s maiden Ferrari podium cheering for him.

“I always knew we had it in us, that I had it in me somewhere. What a race, coming from the back of the grid, doing it all over again from last weekend– it’s pretty surreal.

“To be honest, not sure how it all happened, but obviously crazy conditions, mixed conditions. It was a survival fight for a lot of the race. I think we just were really on it, the right calls, the right tyres in the right moment, made no mistakes. Quite incredible," he added.
