The Supreme Court has reacted to the horrific incident in Odisha, where a 15-year-old girl was set on fire.

The Supreme Court has remarked on the horrific incident in Odisha’s Puri, where a 15-year-old girl was set on fire by a few miscreants at Balanga in the district last week.

The top court described the incident as a “shame" and “unfortunate" and sought suggestions from the Centre and other parties on what steps can be taken to empower girls, homemakers in rural areas.
