The State government will give an appropriate answer to resolutions adopted by Maharashtra on the border issue, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said in Belagavi on Thursday.
“We have learnt of an all-party meeting in Mumbai convened by the Maharashtra government on the border issue. I have held preliminary discussions with Minister M.B. Patil and the former Minister H.K. Patil. I will ask officers to study the resolutions adopted in the Mumbai meeting. I will consult legal experts on how to respond to them,” Mr. Shivakumar told reporters at the Suvarna Soudha.
“I will assure you, however, that we will give an appropriate reply to the resolutions or decisions made in that meeting. The State government is committed to protecting our interests in terms of land, boundaries, rivers and self-esteem. We will not compromise the interests of the State,” he said.
