Mumbai Rain Live: Mumbai continues to reel under heavy rain, with the India Meteorological Department sounding a Yellow Alert for Mumbai and Thane for today, July 9. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in Mumbai and Thane for today, with light to moderate rainfall expected across the region and isolated areas likely to receive heavy showers.

The weather department has also warned of squally winds during thunderstorm activity, while cloudy skies are expected to prevail throughout the day. In view of the forecast, the IMD has issued a Yellow Alert, indicating the possibility of adverse weather conditions that may temporarily disrupt normal activities. Residents have been advised to monitor official weather updates and exercise caution while travelling.

Delhi received another spell of rain on Thursday morning, with showers lashing several parts of the national capital and bringing respite from the prevailing heat and humidity. The IMD has issued an Orange Alert for Delhi, Gurugram and Faridabad, while Noida and Ghaziabad remain under a Yellow Alert, forecasting heavy rainfall for most of the day.

In Gujarat’s Surat, at least nine people have died in rain-related incidents over the past few days, prompting authorities to evacuate residents from low-lying areas.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the situation with the chief ministers of Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Jammu & Kashmir, assuring them of the Centre’s full support.
