Spoiler Alert: This article contains main plot details and spoilers for 'Welcome To The Jungle'. If you haven't seen the film yet and wish to avoid spoilers, please stop reading now.Ahmed Khan's 'Welcome To The Jungle' takes the popular comedy franchise in a completely new direction. Unlike the earlier films, the third instalment follows a fresh storyline packed with mistaken identities, over-the-top humour and an ensemble cast of more than 30 actors. While the narrative begins with a fake film production, the climax transforms into an action-packed rescue mission, ending with an unexpected twist involving Akshay Kumar's character.
Here's a breakdown of how the film concludes.
A fake film becomes the centre of a criminal plan
The story revolves around Jenny (Jacqueline Fernandez), the carefree daughter of a wealthy businessman played by Zakir Hussain. To convert illegal money into legitimate earnings, her father devises an unusual plan. Instead of investing in genuine businesses, he decides to finance a fake movie, expecting it to incur huge losses that can justify the laundering of his wealth.
With help from his trusted aide, played by Johnny Lever, two filmmakers, Dev (Rajpal Yadav) and Das (Paresh Rawal), are hired to stage the elaborate scam. They assemble an unlikely cast led by fading movie star Rajiv (Akshay Kumar), along with Yeda Anna (Suniel Shetty), Romeo (Arshad Warsi), Nadia (Disha Patani) and several others, believing they are about to shoot a legitimate film deep inside a jungle.
The actors walk into a real war zone
Disguised as military personnel for what they assume is a film shoot, the group arrives in Azadgarh, a remote village trapped under the rule of ruthless dacoit Zatara (Jackie Shroff).Their costumes convince both the villagers and Zatara's gang that they are genuine Army officers. The actors continue playing along until they slowly realise there are no cameras, no film set and no scripted action sequences. The danger surrounding them is frighteningly real.By the time they understand they have been used as pawns in a criminal conspiracy, escaping the village is no longer easy.
Rajiv discovers a shocking truth
As the group searches for a way out, they encounter Zoya (Raveena Tandon), who sacrifices her own safety to protect her family and fellow villagers.Initially choosing self-preservation, Rajiv leaves Azadgarh in a helicopter. However, he soon changes his mind and returns to confront Zatara after learning a life-changing truth. He discovers that his father, decorated Army officer Vijayendra Kohli, has been held captive by the dacoit for years.Unable to speak after enduring brutal torture that resulted in his tongue being cut out, Vijayendra has survived alongside fellow prisoners played by the late Pankaj Dheer, Feroz Khan and Puneet Issar.
Akshay Kumar's double role changes everything
The film's biggest reveal comes when audiences learn that Akshay Kumar is playing two characters. Apart from Rajiv, he also portrays Vijayendra Kohli, creating an emotional father-son dynamic that drives the final act.Together with the rescued soldiers and the unlikely band of actors, Rajiv launches a final assault against Zatara. The confrontation allows the villagers of Azadgarh to finally flee towards the Indian border in search of freedom.During the evacuation, Zoya's young daughter goes missing amid the chaos. Vijayendra risks his own life to rescue the child, ensuring she safely reaches Indian territory.
What happens in the ending?
Following Zatara's defeat and the successful rescue mission, the film closes on an ironic note.Through a voice-over, Rajiv reveals that the fake film which had originally been created only as a money-laundering scheme eventually found its way to theatres.
Contrary to everyone's expectations, it turned into a massive box-office blockbuster, making the fraudulent production an unexpected commercial success. The ending ties together the film's central irony: what began as a fabricated movie meant to fail ultimately becomes the biggest hit of them all, while the accidental heroes complete a real-life mission far greater than any script they believed they were acting in.
