The conflict in West Asia escalated early Sunday after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it had carried out a coordinated missile and drone assault on US military installations in Kuwait and Bahrain. The operation, conducted jointly by the IRGC’s naval and aerospace units, was described as retaliation for recent American strikes inside Iran.

According to the IRGC, the attack was in response to US military action on Saturday targeting Iranian missile and drone depots, as well as coastal radar facilities. Iranian state-affiliated media further alleged that Washington had struck five Iranian coastal sites, accusing the US of using an incident involving a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz as justification for the military operation.
