What happened between 3. 30am and 7. 30am? Mystery surrounds Delhi techie’s death at Mussoorie homestay

DEHRADUN: The quiet hills of Dhanaulti were shaken on Monday after the mysterious death of a newly married software engineer from Delhi at a homestay.The 27-year-old woman, identified as P Radha Gayatri, was found dead inside the homestay room where she had checked in with her husband on Saturday night.Gayatri, a resident of Kidwai Nagar in Delhi, worked with a tech firm in Gurgaon, police said. Her husband, Soumya Shricharan, is also a software professional and is based in Pune.The couple had married on November 8, 2025, and their families originally belong to Visakhapatnam.The incident came to light around 7. 30am on Monday when police received an emergency call about a female guest lying unconscious at the property.A police team along with medical personnel rushed to the spot and found Gayatri dead.The circumstances inside the room have raised several questions. Mussoorie police station officer Devendra Chauhan said the woman was found lying naked on the floor, with blood on the bedsheet.“The victim was found lying naked on the floor, and there was blood on the bedsheet. We also recovered two empty liquor bottles from the room,” Chauhan said.

According to police, Gayatri’s husband told investigators that the couple had consumed alcohol before going to sleep around 3. 30am.He claimed that when he woke up, he found his wife unconscious and bleeding from her nose.When approached by the media, Shricharan refused to comment.Police said the couple had travelled from Delhi to Rishikesh on June 13 before reaching the Mussoorie homestay around 11. 30pm on Saturday.The police are investigating the sequence of events leading up to Gayatri’s death.What we know
