'What I Want To Achieve...': Carlos Alcaraz Reiterates Focis On 'Career Grand Slam, Calendar Grand Slam'!

Carlos Alcaraz reiterated his focus on the Australian Open as the Spanish youngster looks to enter elite company by winning all-four majors in his nascent career.

The 22-year-old, who has 6 Grand Slam titles to his name, is yet to conquer the Australian Open, and looks to change that early in the year 2026.

“I think the Australian Open is going to be great to be honest, it’s my first goal," he said.

“When i think about the pre-season and what I want to improve, what I want to achieve, the Australian Open is always there," the Spaniard added.

“It’s the first or second tournament of the year, and my main goal is always to complete the career grand slam and the calendar grand slam," Alcaraz continued.

“I just want to finish it. obviously, I’ll try to do it next year, but if it’s not next year, i hope it happens in two, three, or four years," he added.

Alcaraz has tasted success at the French Open, Wimbledon and US Open, but the season-opening Australian Open remains elusive to the fledgling Spaniard.

“In 2026 I’d rather win Australia alone than win two repeated Grand Slams," Alcaraz had said earlier.

“I’m far from being the best player in tennis or overall, because there are still many players who can beat me and I’ve lost to many players. I’m not the best, despite the ranking showing that I am," the Spaniard added.

Alcaraz has expressed his desire to join the esteemed ranks of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic by the time he retires from professional tennis. With Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer having amassed 24, 22, and 20 Grand Slam titles respectively, the young Spaniard has set his sights on replicating the achievements of these iconic figures before he concludes his career.
