In a bizarre yet hilarious turn in online satire, the Oggy Janata Party (OJP) has emerged as a rival to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), sparking a humorous political-style showdown inspired by the cartoon series Oggy and the Cockroaches. The parody clash has quickly gained traction online, drawing strong reactions and endless memes across social media platforms.
Here are five key points about the Oggy Janata Party:
1. Allegations of political connections:
OJP recently questioned CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke’s past association with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The group pointed to Dipke’s earlier role in the party’s social media and election campaign activities. It also highlighted a 2024 post where Dipke thanked former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia before leaving for Boston.
“I’m truly grateful for all the opportunities you provided me while working with you. Leaving for Boston with your guidance as my compass. No distance will ever weaken my commitment to AAP," Dipke had tweeted.
2. OJP’s unusual slogan:
According to its official website, the party’s mission is straightforward: to “kill all kinds of cockroaches". It further states, “Any roach. Any size. Any species. Dead."
3. Criticism of CJP’s messaging
In one Instagram post, OJP mocked the CJP’s identity politics by sharing images of Indian freedom fighters alongside the caption: “A land shaped by the sharpness of swords is witnessing its youths taking pride in calling themselves ‘cockroaches’. Truly the ‘Peak unemployment’ symptoms!"
4. Focus on animal welfare
OJP has also released an animal rights manifesto promising free healthcare for stray animals, stronger anti-cruelty laws, more shelters, feeding drives and adoption awareness campaigns.
5. Reference to the NEET paper leak
The group additionally voiced support for students affected by the NEET paper leak controversy, sharing a post demanding justice for aspirants.
Despite being newly launched, OJP has already amassed nearly 9,600 Instagram followers.
