"Undhiyu aur Tuar ki Daal ka Mazza"

In an upcoming episode of Wheel of Fortune hosted by Akshay Kumar, the Bollywood actor known for his disciplined lifestyle and love of simplicity, opened up about his passion for Gujarati food.

During a lively discussion with guest Viraj Gehlani, he humorously dismisses the trend of expensive modern dishes like avocado and truffle mushroom pasta.Viraj, who comes from a Gujarati family, shares the tradition of eating at home. He recalls his childhood and says, “Main Gujarati family se aata hoon. Hamare ghar mein routine hota hai: Monday ko tuar ki daal, Tuesday normal, Wednesday moong ki daal, Friday kadhi, aur Saturday ko urad ki daal.”

Upon hearing this, Akshay gets excited and expresses his enjoyment of the cuisine, saying, “Yaar Gujarati khana mereko bahut maza aata hai.

Mujhe toh Gujarati thali bhi bahut sahi lagti hai.”Viraj added that he grew up eating Gujarati food every day. He further mentions, “Season ho toh undhiyu bhi ban jaata hai.” He also reveals how his diet has changed since getting married, saying, “But ever since I am married, I eat avocado on Monday and sourdough bread on Tuesday.”

This left everyone laughing out loud.Reacting to this change in lifestyle, Akshay jokingly contrasts the two food worlds, saying, “Woh jo life thi na, jo undhiyu, jo tuar ki daal, usme jo mazza hai na… humara Hindustani khana hai jo, Gujarati thali ka jo maza hai, edamame aur baaki kisi aur cheez mein nahi hai.”Viraj continues the joke by explaining that he now frequently eats international dishes, saying, “I eat Truffle Mushroom Pasta, sir.

It’s so expensive… I don’t even like it, but my wife says you have to eat. Now you are sitting with big people.” Amused by the contrast, Akshay jokingly asks, “So what’s the benefit of eating this?” to which Viraj laughs and replies, “Sir, it’s so expensive. I don’t know what the benefit is of eating this.

The two talk about how unfamiliar they were at first with contemporary superfoods, which makes the conversation even funnier.

Viraj jokes, “Meri mummy ko pata nahi tha avocado kya hota hai. Sab log kiwi samajhkar khaate the.”“Actually mujhe bhi nahi pata tha avocado kya hota hai, baad mein jaake pata chala ki woh ek kamaal ka fruit hai.” is Akshay's equally honest response.Viraj adds more humor by making jokes about how marriage has even altered his speech pattern, saying, “English bolna seekh gaya main. Mereko nahi aata tha English. Now I’m preposterous and obnoxious.

I talk like this, sir.” Relating to his story, Akshay laughs and replies, “Pata nahi par teri kahani mere se thodi bahut milti julti hai. English ki baat aati hai toh mera bhi thoda haath baitha hai.”While serving guests, Viraj related a hilarious story about Mushroom Tagliatelle, a dish he couldn't pronounce. Everyone on stage is laughing after the open admission, and Viraj Gehlani and Akshay Kumar continue their conversation with lighthearted banter.
