When Manisha Koirala opened up about her friendship with Rekha: 'There is so much of everything in that woman'

In a past interview, Manisha Koirala spoke warmly about her bond with Rekha, describing the veteran star as a woman of rare depth, beauty and wisdom. Reflecting on how their friendship grew over time, Manisha revealed that she was not very close to Rekha initially.

But once they began opening up to each other, she discovered a side of the actor that left a lasting impression.“There is so much of wisdom; there is so much of a woman, there is so much of a girl. There is so much of everything in that woman,” Manisha had said in a previous interview with Pinkvilla while speaking about their friendship.

Recalling how their bond developed, Manisha shared that she became friends with Rekha only later, after both of them gradually opened up to each other.“I became friends with Rekha ji much later. I didn’t open up much with her initially. But when I did and saw a different side of her, she also opened up. I was like, ‘My goodness!’ There is so much of wisdom; there is so much of a woman, there is so much of a girl. There is so much of everything in that woman. Art, intelligence, wisdom, compassion, beauty. She is an enigma. She is an icon. Something that is unmatched. Her talent, beauty, everything is unmatched,” said Koirala, 54.

She also recalled a moment that brought them closer. The Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar actor shared, “I saw her without makeup. She looked beautiful. Then I sat there and bonded with her for hours. I was sitting and listening to her and getting mesmerised because her innate beauty was visible. I did a couple of shows with her. Ever since, hamari dosti huyi (we became friends).”
