A fresh legal battle has erupted in the Ketan Agarwal murder case, with two lawyers now claiming to represent accused Siya Goyal. Pune-based advocate Aashuutosh Srivastava has issued a Rs 10 crore defamation notice to Siya’s brother Sahil Goyal, after Sahil publicly disputed his appointment as her lawyer.

Who Is Aashuutosh Srivastava?

Srivastava is a Pune-based advocate who claims Siya Goyal appointed him as her legal counsel in the murder case. He says Siya signed a vakalatnama, a formal legal document authorising a lawyer to represent a client in court, in his favour on June 25, allowing him and his associates to appear on her behalf both before the magistrate court in Wadgaon Mawal and the Bombay High Court.

Srivastava maintains these documents have already been accepted and placed on record before the respective courts.
