Former NFL star Antonio Brown is back in the news, but this time the spotlight is not on controversy. Instead, it is about his daughter and her growing success in sports. Brown recently shared a proud update about his daughter, Antanyiah “Nyiah” Brown, and her next step in athletics.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers star posted the news on X. In his message, Brown wrote, “Another champion in the family! My daughter signed D1 today. Hard work in the bloodline. Proud Dad moment!” The post confirmed that Nyiah Brown has committed to the Kansas Jayhawks track and field program at the University of Kansas.Her decision was revealed on March 11 during a signing event at North Miami High School, where she celebrated the moment with family and friends.
Nyiah chose Kansas even though she also had offers from Arkansas State Red Wolves and South Florida Bulls. The commitment marks a big step for the young sprinter, who has been one of the top high school track athletes in Florida.

She helped her team finish second in the 4×100 relay. She also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash and seventh in the 200-meter race.Her senior season brought even more progress. Earlier this month, Brown won the 100-meter race at the GMAC Invitational with a time of 12.08 seconds.She also competed at the Ellis Elite 16 Invitational, where she ran 11.74 seconds in the 100 meters and 23.97 seconds in the 200 meters.Her fastest 100-meter time so far came at the Dade County Youth Fair High School Championship, where she clocked 11.66 seconds.
That performance placed her among the stronger sprinters in one of Florida’s most competitive high school track regions.Speed clearly runs in the family. Antonio Brown was known for his quick burst during his NFL career. In 2016 offseason training, he reportedly ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash, showing the same speed that helped him become one of the league’s top receivers.Brown played 12 seasons in the NFL from 2010 to 2021. Most of that time came with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he earned seven Pro Bowl selections and four First-Team All-Pro honors, according to the NFL.Away from football, Brown has also spoken openly about his family and finances. During a June 2025 appearance on the Full Send Podcast by the Nelk Boys, he said the money he earned in the NFL was meant to support his family’s future.Brown said, “My people in my life, they just took the money I made in the NFL, and they didn’t make that money mine no more. They put it away for my family generations, the trusts.”Antonio Brown is the father of seven children, including two daughters. As Nyiah prepares to compete at Kansas, she now has the chance to build her own name in college track while continuing the Antonio Brown family’s sports story.
