Police in Monaco and France are hunting for a suspected bomber after a parcel explosion injured three people in the wealthy principality. The blast, which rocked a residential building in Monaco, has triggered a cross-border manhunt as authorities try to trace the suspect believed to have fled into France.

Who Is Vadym Yermolaiev?

Vadym Yermolaiev is a Ukrainian-born businessman who has lived in Monaco since at least 2021, according to the Monaco prosecutor’s office. He is also reported to hold Cypriot nationality, which he acquired in 2019.

Yermolaiev has been placed under Ukrainian sanctions since 2023, with Ukrainian media linking the measures to his business interests in Russian-occupied Crimea.

A police source confirmed he was among those injured in the Monaco explosion, alongside his partner and son.
