Why 8 were arrested for donation theft at Ayodhya’s Ram temple

Eight people were arrested over their alleged role in stealing donations meant for the Ram temple in

Ayodhya

, most of them linked to the counting of cash donations. One of them was the driver of the general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, while the rest were linked to the counting and transporting of cash.
The eight people detained on Thursday night: Ramashankar Yadav alias Tinnu, Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Karunesh Pandey, Manish Yadav, Lavkush Mishra, Ram Shankar Mishra and Subhash Srivastava were formally placed under arrest on Friday morning.
