SIT found a spot near Janora, Ayodhya, where Ram Temple donation theft accused allegedly split stolen money.

As the Special Investigation Team (SIT) digs deeper into the alleged theft of Ram Temple donations, investigators have identified a location they believe was used by the accused to split the stolen money. CNN-News18 visited the site, where police recently recreated the sequence of events with the main accused.

The spot is situated along the Parikrama Marg near Janora in Ayodhya. According to the investigation, the accused would allegedly gather here in the evenings after stealing donation money from the temple.

Investigators believe the location was deliberately chosen because of its strategic position. It is located near the Ayodhya Ram Temple highway and falls on the boundary of the Kotwali Nagar and Kotwali Ayodhya police station limits.

Sources said the area witnessed relatively less police movement, making it a convenient place for the accused to allegedly meet and distribute the cash.

Accused Brought To Spot During Police Remand

As part of the ongoing investigation, police on Thursday brought the main accused, Avinash Shukla, to the site during his 13-hour police remand to recreate the sequence of events.

Investigators questioned him about how the alleged theft was carried out and where the stolen donation money was allegedly divided among those involved.

Police Revisit Yoga Centre

After the spot inspection, police also took Shukla to the yoga centre where he had been staying.

The premises had earlier come under the scanner after investigators recovered more than Rs 20 lakh in cash, which is believed to be linked to the case.

SIT Tracking Money Trail

With the Special Investigation Team (SIT) expanding its probe, investigators are now focusing on tracing the complete money trail—from the alleged theft of donations collected at the Ram Temple to the movement and distribution of the cash among the accused.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are examining whether others were involved in the alleged conspiracy.
