Wife Dead After Husband Hits Her With LPG Cylinder After Argument In Delhi

Suresh allegedly hit his wife with a mini LPG cylinder after a dispute in Delhi.

A woman was allegedly killed by her husband following a dispute in the Pul Prahladpur area of South Delhi, police said.

The victim has been identified as Poonam, a mother of two. Poonam died after the accused husband, Suresh, allegedly struck her on the head with a mini LPG cylinder during an argument at their residence. According to the police, the incident took place around 9.30 pm on Sunday.

It is learnt that the victim’s neighbours heard the woman screaming for help and rushed to the house. By the time they forced the door open, the woman had already succumbed to her injuries. While the accused was found inside the house holding the couple’s one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Residents immediately informed the police.

Soon after, a police team reached the spot and took Suresh into custody. Police said the couple had moved into the DDA housing complex around one and a half months ago and were originally from Rajasthan. The couple has two daughters. One of them lives with the accused’s parents in Churu district of Rajasthan, while the younger child, who was present at the time of the incident, is currently being cared for by neighbours.

According to neighbours, the accused admitted that a heated argument had taken place between him and his wife before the incident occurred.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case of murder and launched an investigation. A forensic team also visited the scene to collect evidence, and the body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
