Wife killed, husband escapes with minor injuries in accident

A woman riding pillion on a scooter with her husband was killed, while he escaped with minor injuries in an accident near Benniganahalli Railway Bridge on Friday morning. 

Mahadevaiah, 65, and his wife Menaka, 61, residents of A. Narayanapura were on their way to Indiranagar on Friday morning. As the duo were on their scooter near Benniganahalli Railway Bridge on Old Madras Road, a speeding private bus rammed into their scooter. Both fell down due to the impact of the collision, Menaka sustained severe head injuries and was killed on the spot, even as Mahadevaiah escaped with minor injuries.

Mahadevapura traffic police have registered a case against the private bus driver for rash and negligent driving and causing death due to negligence.
