A fresh controversy has erupted in Madhya Pradesh after Pichhore district's BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi issued a sharp warning to a police officer, days after his son was involved in a road accident in Karera.

Addressing the issue, Lodhi opened a front against Karera SDOP Ayush Jakhad and demanded a clarification within 15 days. He alleged that the officer was making “political statements” and questioned under whose direction such remarks were being made. The MLA warned that if the clarification was not issued within the stipulated time, he would “fill the SDOP’s house with cow dung.”

The controversy comes after Lodhi’s son, Dinesh Lodhi, allegedly rammed a Thar vehicle into five people in Karera a few days ago. Even as the matter had not fully subsided, Lodhi’s remarks against the police administration triggered a fresh row.

According to Lodhi, the incident was an accident and not intentional. He said, “An accident means an accident; it is never done deliberately.” He added that he immediately instructed officials to take action, anticipating that Congress leaders would try to politicise the issue.

He further said that there was an initial delay in action, following which he personally contacted the SP multiple times and asked for action. Lodhi said the vehicle was sent to the police station as per instructions reportedly coming from Delhi and was granted bail on the third day. On the fourth day, his son was also sent for questioning and later granted bail.

Lodhi claimed he fully cooperated with the investigation. However, he alleged that after Dinesh left Karera, police called him back and told him that he would neither contest elections from the area nor be seen there.

Questioning the authority of the police, Lodhi asked, “Can the police say that someone cannot contest elections or cannot stay here? Who gave you such orders?” He also raised questions over whether instructions were coming from leaders in Delhi.

The MLA accused the police of acting under political pressure. He demanded clarity on the allegation that he did not cooperate in the case and said he wanted the public to know the extent of his cooperation.

Reiterating his warning, Lodhi said that if no explanation is provided within 15 days, he would gather 10-15 people and fill the SDOP’s bungalow with cow dung. He said he was issuing the warning in advance so that no one could later claim he had not informed them.

Lodhi added that he suspects a larger conspiracy behind the developments and said that his hand weighed 2.5 kilos, but now it weighs 250 kilos.
