Florida Panthers defenseman Seth Jones and center Sam Bennett were sidelined due to injury. Reports suggest that the defensemen are all set to return to the lineup against the Vancouver Canucks, the club announced on Tuesday.
When speaking to the media, Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice revealed that both forward Sam Bennett and defenseman Seth Jones will be back in the lineup on Tuesday night when the Panthers visit the Vancouver Canucks.According to the NHL, Jones was sidelined since suffering a broken collarbone on an unlucky deflection during the Winter Classic against the New York Rangers on Jan. 2, when a shot ramped up off Niko Mikkola and struck him near the left shoulder.
While Bennett, who has been out due to a lower-body injury, will also join soon and will spring back into action, providing great relief to the Panthers supporters.

Florida Panthers defenseman Seth Jones and center Sam Bennett are set to return to the lineup against the Canucks. It has been a long hiatus for Jones, who was last seen in action at the Winter Classic back on Jan. 2. In that game in Miami, which was the 900th game of this Texas native’s NHL career.Unfortunately, the player had to sustain a major upper-body injury that prompted the player to remain away from the club for a prolonged period of time.
Earlier, head coach Paul Maurice said the veteran blueliner’s rehab “took a long time to heal” but noted the team was finally approaching “the light at the end of the tunnel,” with Jones projected to be cleared and back to the club by the end of this week.

In the 26 games Jones has missed due to the ailment, where Florida has gone 12-14-0, slipping further and further away from the playoff picture, as reported by Daily Faceoff.This season, Jones has appeared in 40 games, where he has scored six goals and 18 assists for 24 points. He has a plus/minus of -2 while averaging 23:29 of ice time per game. On the contrary, Bennett’s absence had not been quite long; the player didn’t play this past Sunday against the Seattle Kraken due to an undisclosed injury. In 65 games this season, Bennett has scored 24 goals and 26 assists for 50 points, good for third on the team in scoring. It will be interesting to witness what these two defensemen will bring to the rink after getting back against the Canucks.
