Popular Hong Kong actor Will Lam, known for his role in ‘Drifting’, has shared a heartbreaking health update with the public. In an online post, the 33-year-old shared that he was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.

He shared more about his ordeal, saying that. “I was stepping into thin air”.

Will Lam talks about his cancer diagnosis

Recnently, the actor shared a selfie of himself, along with a long note attached, revealing that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer and that he is at the last stage of the disease. He talked in his post about how he had been experiencing an extreme cough since May this year, and after completing two antibiotic courses, he still hadn’t gotten better.In his post, he shared that he had gone for further diagnosis and after seeing his physician’s “serious face”, he had joked about the situation, saying, “Your face looks so serious. Is it cancer?” He later revealed that more tests were done, which confirmed the diagnosis.“My legs felt weak, like I was stepping into thin air,” he shared, adding that at first he could not believe the diagnosis and even had asked his doctor to confirm if it was tuberculosis instead.

Will Lam expresses his gratitude for his life and job

He also talked about how the diagnosis has suddenly made him appreciate his life and work more, saying that, even though he always wished for a break, he loves working and does not wish to stop like this. “I used to say I wanted a break. Turns out I actually love working. Have I ever treated this like just a job? Not really. I throw myself into it, no matter how tough it gets, I enjoy it,” he shared.

Actor halts all promotional activities

Will Lam also added in his post that even though he does not wish to stop, he has to take a break in order to recover. He will be undergoing targeted therapy for his disease, and in the meantime, has dropped out of his next project, the ‘Banana Playhouse’ stage production. He is also stepping back from all promotional events for his upcoming film ‘Electrify’.
