CHENNAI: Actor-choreographer Raghava Lawrence on Sunday hinted at entering politics, saying he will soon make an important announcement regarding his future plans.Lawrence met a large gathering of fans at his residence in Uthandi, Chennai, where he discussed his proposed political journey and sought their opinions before taking a final decision, according to news agency ANI.Addressing his supporters, the actor said the current political and social environment had led him to seriously consider a role in public life. He stated that his goal is to serve people selflessly and contribute to public welfare without expecting anything in return. He also stressed that public opinion would play a key role in shaping his decision.The actor further revealed that a larger meeting with his supporters would be held in the coming days, during which he intends to outline more details about his political plans.Later, speaking to reporters, Lawrence confirmed that an official announcement about his political future would be made soon."I will soon announce my political journey. I will share important details related to it with my fans in the coming days," he said.Responding to a question on the performance of the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government, Lawrence praised the administration and said it had been functioning effectively.
He welcomed the closure of TASMAC liquor outlets and appreciated the work carried out by the School Education Department.Lawrence is a prominent figure in South Indian cinema. He began his career as a choreographer before establishing himself as an actor, director and producer. He is widely known for the successful Muni and Kanchana horror-comedy franchise, one of Tamil cinema's most successful film series. In 2020, he made his Bollywood directorial debut with Laxmii.
