Winners of science seminar, drama competitions announced

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kalaburagi, has, in association with the District Science Centre, announced the results of the district-level science seminar and science drama competitions for high school students for the academic year 2025-26.

In the science seminar, winners from eight taluks took part.

Sunita Mahadev, a student of Government High School, Kalhangerga, secured the first place and has been selected to represent Kalaburagi at the divisional-level contest.

Purvi from St. Joseph’s High School, Kalaburagi, won the second place, while Krutika from Adarsh Vidyalaya, Aland, bagged the third.

In the science drama contest, six teams that won at the taluk level competed. The team led by Mailari from Government High School, Neelhalli (Sedam taluk), won the first prize and qualified for the divisional-level event.

The team led by Bharat from Government High School, Bhimanahalli (Chittapur taluk), secured the second place, while Ankita and her team from Government High School, Shivur (Afzalpur taluk), won the third.

At the valedictory, DIET senior lecturer Chandrashekhar Gowda distributed certificates to the winners.

Speaking on the occasion, he urged students to cultivate a sporting spirit irrespective of winning or losing and called upon them to take greater interest in scientific research in this era of science and technology.

District Science Centre officer K.M. Sunil, nodal officer Mallappa, lecturers Malkonda Hachadad, M.G. Satish and Govindraj, along with staff of the centre, were present.
