Filmmaker Soundarya Rajinikanth recently highlighted a captivating parallel between the teaser of Yash’s anticipated film 'Toxic' and the renowned British series 'Peaky Blinders'. Recognizing the show's significant cultural footprint, she pointed out the ‘setting similarities’ that echo its aesthetic. Filmmaker Soundarya Rajinikanth recently shared her thoughts about Kannada star Yash's starrer ‘Toxic’ directed by Geetu Mohandas. When asked about the teaser that was released by the makers earlier this year, he shared that she found it similar to the British show ‘Peaky Blinders’.

Calling ‘Peaky Blinders’ a cult classic

While speaking in an interview with Galatta Plus, Soundarya spoke about the British show ‘Peaky Blinders’. She called it a “cult classic”. She said it is one of the few shows that can be watched many times. Soundarya Rajinikanth also said she is a big fan of well-made shows. When she was asked if the ‘Toxic’ teaser reminded her of ‘Peaky Blinders’, she answered as she said, “The setting yes, it was very similar.”

Explains inspiration and similarities

She also added that ever since the show aired, many filmmakers have been inspired from it.

She said, “But having said that, ever since ‘Peaky Blinders’ came out, there has been a lot of inspiration that people have taken from that series.” She also said, “It happens with global sensation like that.” She ended by saying, “But yes, there were some setting similarities.” Her words were clear and not harsh. She did not criticize the teaser.

Speaking about ‘Toxic’, the film is helmed by acclaimed director Geethu Mohandas. The film stars Yash in the lead role. Nayanthara, Kiara Advani,

The much-awaited movie was set to release on March 19 clashing at the box office with Ranveer Singh's ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ directed by Aditya Dhar.Meanwhile, Soundarya Rajinikanth recently backed the latest release, ‘With Love’ directed by debutant Madhan. It is a light-hearted romantic comedy drama which stars Abishan Jeevinth and Anaswara Rajan in the lead. Harish Kumar, Kavya Anil, Sacchin Nachiappan, Theni Murugan, and Saravanan also act in the film.
