An alarming turn of events unfolded in Sitamarhi when a woman reportedly doused her husband, a mason, with scalding oil as he slept, leaving him with critical burns. He has been rushed to the hospital, where his family asserts that deep-seated animosity led to the attack.
Patna: A woman allegedly poured hot oil on her husband while he was asleep in Sitamarhi. The husband, a mason, was admitted to hospital with severe burns. Police registered a case against the wife.
The victim’s family alleged that she disliked her husband and kept her distance from him.The incident occurred in Minapur Balha ward under Piprahi police station. The victim was identified as Munna Sah. His wife, Afsara Khatoon, allegedly heated oil and poured it over his body.Munna worked as a mason and had earlier been employed in Hyderabad. He returned to Sheohar a few days ago. Munna and Afsara were married on Jan 12 this year.
Afsara is a resident of Basahiya village.Munna’s father alleged, “My daughter-in-law did not like my son. She used to keep her distance from him. On Wednesday, while Munna was sleeping, Afsara heated the mustard oil kept in the house and poured it on my son’s body.”The family alleged the act was deliberate. After receiving information, police registered a case at Piprahi police station.Piprahai SHO Umakant Singh said, “The matter is very serious. A case was registered on the complaint of the victim's family. Further action will be taken after the statements of the victim are recorded.”
