Hyderabad: A 37-year-old labourer from Vikarabad has been arrested for allegedly abducting a six-year-old girl from a toddy compound in Shamshabad on July 1. By analysing CCTV footage from different places, police arrested the offender from Vikarabad on Tuesday night and rescued the girl.
The offender claimed that she did not have children and kidnapped the girl in an intoxicated state.The accused, R Rajani, wife of Krishnaiah, is a native of Indrannagardoddi in Rallaguda area of Shamshabad. The couple work as masons and were currently engaged in construction work at Vikarabad. On July 1, Rajani kidnapped the six-year-old girl from a toddy compound and took her to Vikarabad. “On reaching home, her husband reprimanded her for the act. But Rajani decided to keep the girl,” RGI Airport inspector J Balaraju said. The girl was handed over to her family, and during the interrogation, Rajani confessed to kidnapping the girl under the influence of toddy. The accused was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
