Woman jumps from Gurgaon DLF-3 building’s rooftop after argument with her friend

GURGAON: A 22-year-old woman working with a private company died after jumping from the rooftop of a residential building in DLF-3 area on Tuesday morning.The incident took place at around 11.30am, an officer said.

The deceased was identified as Manmeet Kaur, a native of Dehradun in Uttarakhand. "The deceased's family did not raise any suspicion of foul play or file any complaint in connection with the incident.

No case was registered," the officer added.Police said information about the incident came from the hospital where the woman was taken after the fall. The woman was living with a friend since Dec 2025. The two knew each other from a previous workplace in the city.

Sources said the woman and her friend argued a few days before the incident. During the dispute, the friend advised her to focus on her career, which led to a quarrel between the two. After the argument, Manmeet went to stay at her brother's rented accommodation in Sector 17. Police said her brother later came to her rented accommodation in DLF Phase III to resolve the matter between his sister and her friend but days later, the woman took the extreme step.

"She jumped from the fifth floor, which is the rooftop of the building," the officer said. She was rushed to a nearby hospital immediately after the fall but doctors declared her dead on arrival.Police conducted postmortem proceedings on Wednesday under Section 194 of the BNSS. After the examination, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
