Woman’s death: court dismisses bail plea of accused

The Thalassery District and Sessions Court has dismissed the bail plea of a 28-year-old man who was accused in the case related to the death of a woman, identified as Adithya, who allegedly took her life after being reportedly assaulted by him near the old bus stand at Thalassery.

District and Sessions Judge M. Manoj dismissed the bail application filed by Saran, a native of Manekkara, Panniyannur.

Opposing the plea, government pleader K. Ajith Kumar submitted that the post-mortem examination had revealed around seven injuries on the body of the deceased.

According to the prosecution, the accused allegedly assaulted the woman on the evening of June 8, causing injuries. Adithya, a resident of Vallangad, Mokeri, was an employee of Kannur University. The case is being investigated by the Panoor police.
