Woman shot at over relationship row in Muzaffarpur

Patna: A 25-year-old woman was shot and critically injured by bike-borne assailants in broad daylight near Mithanpura on NH-27 under Ahiyapur police station area of Muzaffarpur district on Thursday.According to police, the victim, identified as Madina Khatoon, was returning home to Bochaha after treatment at Shri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH) when the incident occurred. She was travelling in an e-rickshaw with her sister-in-law, Zoya Khatoon. Near the Bakhri-Maror area, two men on a motorcycle intercepted the vehicle. One of them entered the e-rickshaw, threatened Madina to withdraw a police case, and then shot her before fleeing with his accomplice.

Locals rushed the injured woman to hospital, where her condition was critical.“The attack appears linked to an earlier complaint involving an alleged relationship and financial dispute. Madina had lodged a case at Bochaha police station against a man who, the family claims, was pressuring her to withdraw it,” said SDPO (Town-2) Binita Sinha, adding an investigation was underway and raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
