Woman stabbed to death over dowry; husband, bro-in-law held

Amroha: A 28-year-old married woman was allegedly stabbed to death over demands for dowry in Amroha’s Naugawan Sadat town, prompting the police to arrest her husband and brother-in-law.The victim, identified as Fiza, was discovered on Tuesday morning lying in a pool of blood on a cot in the courtyard of her house in Prem Nagar Colony, Nai Basti. She had suffered a fatal stab wound to her abdomen.The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the victim’s brother, Anas, arrived at the house and alerted the police. Senior police officials, including CO Avadhbhan Singh Bhadauria, along with a forensic team, rushed to the spot to inspect the crime scene.In his complaint, Anas alleged that Fiza’s in-laws had been constantly harassing her for more dowry.Amroha SP Lakhan Singh Yadav confirmed the arrest of the deceased’s husband, Mohammad Faizan, and her brother-in-law Mohammad Ejaz.A case has been registered against the duo under Sections 85, 80(2), 115(2), and 351(2) of BNS, alongside Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.
