Woman throws 3 children into well in Madhya Pradesh, all drown

KHARGONE: A woman on Wednesday allegedly threw her 3 children into a well located on a farm between Malgaon and Bhomwada villages under Sanawad police station limits, leading to their deaths.Khargone Superintendent of Police Ravindra Verma told TOI that on Wednesday morning, the woman, identified as Nani Bai, allegedly threw her 2-year-old son, Arjun, and 4-year-old son, Karan, into a well in the field. She then jumped into the well herself along with her 15-day-old infant.He said, "The woman knew how to swim and managed to climb out of the well using a rope and a ladder, while all 3 children drowned."The incident occurred when the woman’s husband, Kalu, went out for daily wage work.

As soon as information about the incident was received, police reached the spot and began an investigation, he said.The SP said the reason behind the woman’s act is not yet known.The woman's husband, Kalu, told media persons that he left home around 7 am with other labourers to harvest wheat in the fields. He said he came to know about the incident later and claimed that there was no dispute between him and his wife.He said, "I came here along with about 20 other labourers from the Piplud area of Khandwa district for wheat harvesting work."
