The Chevayur police on Sunday (August 10) issued a lookout notice against Moolakandi Pramod, the brother of two elderly women who were found dead at their house near Thadampattuthazham in Kozhikode city on August 9.

The police sources said the 63-year-old man, suspected of involvement in the incident, was found absconding from his house. His location history has already been tracked by the cyber cell to intensify the search.

Moolakkandy Sreejaya, 76, and Moolakkandy Pushpa, 66, were the two sisters found dead at their house on Saturday (August 9). Residents first learned about the incident from the younger brother of the two women, who reportedly described it as a “natural death” before going missing from the spot.

Police sources said the motive behind the alleged murders remains unclear and that more details could emerge only after interrogating the absconding suspect.

A team of senior police officers had earlier visited the spot and recorded statements from residents. Forensic experts and a dog squad also gathered evidence to make headway in the probe.
